When a washer fills properly but remains completely stationary, it usually points to a breakdown in the drive system or a failed safety sensor. On older top-loading units, this is frequently caused by a worn-out direct drive coupler or a snapped motor belt. On modern high-efficiency (HE) units, a failing lid lock assembly or door interlock switch is the most common culprit; if the main control board does not receive a secure signal that the door is locked, it mechanically cuts power to the drive motor as a safety measure. We diagnose these components using internal control board telemetry to isolate the exact electrical failure.
Water puddling on your floor specifically during the drain or spin cycle is typically caused by a compromised internal component or a blocked drain path. The most frequent issues include a punctured rubber door boot seal (on front-loaders), a cracked drain pump casing, or a loose internal tub-to-pump hose connection. Additionally, if the main home standpipe or external drain hose becomes restricted by hair, lint, or small garments, the pumped water will overflow out of the back of the drain pipe and onto your floorboards. Our teams check every hose clamp, seal integrity, and pump housing to permanently resolve leaks.
Extreme vibration and unbalance errors occur when the internal wash tub can no longer suspend itself evenly within the outer cabinet. In top-load units, this is almost always caused by a failure of one or more of the four heavy-duty suspension rods, which lose their dampening capabilities over time. In front-load units, it typically indicates failing rear tub bearings or a fractured spider arm assembly. Operating a washing machine in an unbalanced state can quickly cause irreversible damage to the outer plastic tub assembly, so replacing weak suspension systems early is critical.
